Hi.

Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it.

Washington D.C.

So during our trip to America we also went to D.C. We went for one night and stayed with family from my mum’s side. We drove down from NY; it was about a five hour car drive and honestly I think road trips are the best way to travel. I feel people don’t road trip places anymore, flying has made things more convenient but I absolutely love them; I can’t tell you much from this road trip since I slept pretty much the whole way. Since I am the youngest and the shortest in my family I end up getting the boot to myself and I go to sleep; I have had this habit since I was a kid, if you don’t talk to me or entertain me while I am in the car I will fall asleep and sure enough thats want I did both ways of this trip. But I can say that the parts I was awake for the drive was absolutely beautiful. I was also woken up for food on both journeys so that was great. (P.s. a great tip for traveling is always have a jacket with you so you can use it as a pillow; I always do this whenever I travel and it honestly so comfy)

We got to the house around late afternoon ( I cant remember exact details since this trip was two years ago). Before we went to the house we did go and see the Washington Monument. We ended up getting to the house and had a huge family dinner. We were staying with my mum’s cousin and since we have a big family it ended up being a big family get-together which was nice since I have never met them before so it was a nice way to meet everyone.

Since it was a night trip we didn’t do much apart from spend time with the family. The next day before driving back we did go to a few museums, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the White House, Lincoln Memorial, the United States Capitol. So we basically crammed all the touristy things to do into half a day and then got on the road for the 5 hour drive back to Long Island, where we were staying in NY. When we got back to the house in New York my sister and my cousins had bought Chipotle for dinner and that was the first time I had ever tried Chipotle; I now know why so many people absolutely love Chipotle (I have also learned that there is one in London and honestly that might be one of my biggest deliveroo orders). My sister who decided to stay in NY cause she wanted to spend more time with our cousins there also went to a restaurant that only sold different types of grilled cheese sandwiches and I am still yet to try this restaurant but when I go back I am going to it because I was promised it was the best grill cheeses ever made ( I think the restaurant was called Melt, I’m not to sure). As a person who loves grill cheeses this made me so jealous but I had got Chipotle so I forgave her.

Our trip to D.C. was extremely short but I still loved it since it got me closer to my goal of going to all 50 states by the time I am 25. So far I have done 2/50. I guess with some trips you can’t do everything so there is always more to do when you go there next, this was one of those trips.

Till my next post my lovelies x
