Hi.

Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it.

Dear Society,

Dear Society,

Why is it when there is a white man, Dylan Roof, who is responsible for the death of 9 people it is a tragedy but he gets arrested PEACEFULLY but a black man, George Floyd, who is only suspected of forgery he is brutally MURDERED by the police. Why does he deserve a worse punishment than Roof, than someone who murdered people? An innocent, unarmed man has done nothing for his life taken away from him by the police. Why did he have to beg for his life, for the police officer to stop kneeling on his neck just so he can breathe? Bt most importantly why did the police officer not get off his after hearing him plead for his life, please for the ability to breathe, please to not be killed? Why was a POLICE OFFICER, who is there to enforce the law, be able to think he has the power to murder a man for no right reason? The death penalty is illegal in so many countries for a reason, it is not fair.

There are so many questions in my mind and no many answers out there to fulfill those questions. I woke up a couple of days ago to see the internet which videos about George Floyd and the police officer who killed him and it is safe to say it disgusted me to have to see those videos. To see the lack of human care or simple acknowledgment for another human out of that man. A human life whose last words were ‘Please don’t kill me’. It is not okay for that to happen but what makes me angrier and a bit more pissed off is those people who are sick of seeing the Black Lives Matter movement on social media. This letter is to them, to those people who think it is okay to kneel on someone's neck and kill them and to those people who are tired of seeing it all of over social media.

Don’t you think that we are tired as well? All of us who support all races, everyone supporting this movement are tired of seeing people get murdered from police brutality and see people get hurt due to some racist. We tired of that happening but us being tired of it isn’t going to stop anything is it. If you are tired of seeing this movement I highly suggest you start supporting the movement because the only reason this movement should ever go away his because we have finally achieved equality and people finally realize it is NOT okay for them to be rude or harm someone due to their skin colour. This will take a while to happen tho so till it happens either stop complaining and support the movement or start to realize that you are the type of person who is the problem. You might not a racist but during this time it is not okay to just be ‘not a racist’ you have to be anti-racist. You have to actively try and stop the injustice that is taking place all over the world. I have to say that this isn’t me saying that racism only happens against black people because it doesn’t, it happens to people of all colour but black people for centuries have been bigger targets of it. It started becoming a global problem when slavery started. They have been trying to fight for quality since then. The Declaration of Independence says that ‘all men are equal’ but why is that forgotten here? Why is that such a selective thing to listen to, it clearly states that everyone is equal so why aren’t we acting like that. What makes Dylan Roof a man and why does George Floyd not have that right to be ‘a man’ because last time we checked he was classified as a man as the word man, in this case, symbolizes all humans. Why is he any less than a human who killed NINE people. Just think to yourself why? Because of that thought process, that schema in your head which makes you think that white people are superior to everyone else. They aren’t. There is no hierarchy when it comes to race, we are all the same. Our skin colour is defined by genetics and where we are born, it is something we as humans have changed throughout our time on earth as we adapted to our environment. If you really believe there is some sort of hierarchy between the race of people then I beg you to please pick up the book ‘Sapiens’ or even google on the internet where it clearly says that we have all originated from Africa. Yes, that's right, we are all brothers and sisters as we all started from the same two people and through evaluation, we have spread around the earth. If you have a family member and you think about this happening to them how would you feel? Devastated? Angry? Hurt? Now how do you think all the people in minorities feel when they have to live in such fear every day knowing they could be next and now knowing what their law enforcers are going to be like. Imagine having to be scared of the people whose whole job was to bring safety to the community.

To all the Christian people who might be apart of the group of people in society that I am addressing. Do you realize that Jesus was actually Middle Eastern? That the story of the Bible and the Moses who is a prophet for you is also one for many different religions? Do you know that the story of the Old Testament is very similar to the ones of different religions as they all took place with the same people at the same time but just a little different in how they were interpreted? So the next time you sit there hating or disrespecting another religion please pick up your phone, go on the internet and educate yourself before you disrespect others' beliefs. You don’t like it when people do that to yours so what gives you the right to do it to other people. That to especially when you aren’t educated about that religion and what their beliefs are and what they stand for. Why does everyone in society feel like they can be so hippocritcal? If you don’t like having it done to you then done even think about doing it to others. It gives you no right to do so. and if you are sitting there thinking I wouldn’t mind someone doing that to me or someone in your family. Really? You would mind living in fear every day of your life scared of a police officer? Yo really wouldn’t mind someone near and dear to you to be brutally killed by the police? even if you are, just don’t do it. It truly doesn’t hurt you to be nice. Being nice will help you, it will make you feel like a better person. All you have to do is smile to a person or if you feel like you are about to say something mean just stay quiet and walk away. It is so much easier to say nothing at all then have to deal with the consequences of your actions because there will always be bad karma coming to you if you do a bad thing. Do a good thing and earn good karma.

So Society, do you think that that is possible to work towards? Because it sure as hell seems like the world that we should already be living in currently and for me to have to even right this just makes me upset. just be nice, there is no need for people to do the things that happened to George Floyd last week again. Nobody deserves that. Just remember that everyone is human, we have feelings as much as the next person and our skin colour does not define who we are, it only shows our ancestors and their adaption to their environment. That is the same as yours.

I am going to end with a quote. Hopefully, this is will help someone get a new perspective to their outlook about other people and if this can help generate change then that is even better.

“We were murdered so often, I started believing Black bodies made better fertilizer”
